Dress Code – Summer Formal
So, what does “Summer Formal” mean? Basically, since we’re in an old country place outside of Rome and the weather is (hopefully) warm and sunny, we didn’t think a classic Black Tie Optional would be in line with the style.
Therefore, we invite you to find a summery yet fashionable and formal outfit for the occasion. See examples below.
- A formal summer dress with sandals (flats or heels) or a light and dressy jumpsuit. Doesn’t need to be floor length but shouldn’t be too short (knee length is okay). The gardens are a mixture of grass and pebbles, so your highest heels might not be your best choice.
- All colour suits are okay except black, however a light suit would be your best choice. If you go for a navy suit I suggest you go for a less dressy pair of shoes. Pair your suit with a lightweight shirt in cotton or linen. Ties are not a requirement.
Q: Dress code Summer? That must mean Hawaii Shirt!
A: Hawaii shirts and other typical “tourist attire” are strongly discouraged. We need you at your finest!
Q: Can I wear a red dress?
A: Red dresses or jumpsuits are not a no-no, however be a bit mindful of which shade of red you go for. Fire-engine reds tend to steal a lot of attention in photos, so if you want to go red – maybe opt for more of a cranberry red.
Q: Sandals + socks = success?
A: No. Never.
